Learning Activity 1:  Revisiting Using Memoir/Biography to Meet the ELA Standards

(7:00-7:10)  
Carrie will distribute her revised Unit Overview and share any final reflections on her unit/teaching demonstration.   

Learning Activity 2:  Using Graphic Novels to Meet the ELA Standards

Inquiry Topics:  Exploring Biography Graphic-Novel Style in ELA Discussion 
(7:15-8:15)  
Melissa will lead the class in a literacy expert/teacher demonstration   
Presentation of YA Summary and Overview of Unit
Teacher Demonstration 
Debrief of demonstration, summary of YA text,  and instructional overview/materials 

8:15-8:30 Break

Learning Activity 3:  Reading Workshop Time:  The 5 R's 
(8:30-9:20)
Recommended:  Continue reading self-selected or assigned quality YA literature
Recommended:  Compose an individual response (blog post) to quality YA literature
Recommended:  Continue composing your formal digital response to your selected piece of quality YA literature. 

(9:20-9:35)Required (W-R) Written-Response/Rap about YOUR Response to Text Project 
Housekeeping (9:35-9:40)
Heather will share any final directions in preparation for her literacy expert/teacher demonstration  
Dr. Jones will distribute a revised and finalized version of the Semester Synthesis Self-Reflection Paper
